Traditional Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)

Our Photofacial process offers comfortable and effective treatment of “REDS” and “BROWNS” – lesion discolorations or unwanted pigments.

Each photoepilation pulse will send the “healing power of light” through your skin.

Your technician will discuss post-procedure skin care agents and instructions.

Red Pigments Photofacial Treatment Options – Such as Rosacea, IPL, and laser treatments work well with treating Rosacea symptoms. The handpiece uses different wavelengths of light that target the red blood vessels, redness and acne-causing them to disintegrate and the body removes them. When treating red pigments, you may experience an immediate disappearance or an increased redness for a short time; this is normal before it gets better. A cold compress can speed along a reduction in swelling to the area. Treating these symptoms your skin will appear rejuvenized, younger and clearer! This will also help minimize future flare-ups.

Brown Pigments Photofacial Treatment Options – Such as sun spots, birthmarks, sunburn marks or freckles, will get darker, crust and fall off following this procedure. It’s best not to use any harsh skin products or exfoliate for 2 weeks following the laser treatment due to possible hypopigmentation. Let it fall off naturally and your skin’s new, fresh layer will emerge, making you look up to 15 years younger!

Active Acne Photofacial Treatment Options

The laser uses controlled heat and light to destroy acne-causing bacteria by shrinking the gland and pulling it to the skin’s surface. This may cause breakout initially, but will subside and clear up from the inside out and significant reduction of the level of inflammation in the lesions. This along with a proprietary topical product that works by reducing the level of the bacteria has provided clearance of acute acne in patients. Multiple treatments with the laser may be necessary as well as maintenance treatments depending upon individual needs. Dieting and other factors also need to be addressed along with treatments

Additional treatments that work to further improve results:

What is Chemical Peel and Microderm

A Chemical Peel or Microdermabrasion, received with a facial, is one of the least invasive ways to improve the appearance of your skin. These may be applied on all skin varieties and on various sections of the body with some exemptions. Done in a bi-weekly series for up to twelve weeks, they can improve many skin conditions, including acne.

The Procedure:

By exfoliating the first layer of the skin allows dead skin cells to drop or shed more efficiently, which decreases clogged pores and pimples drastically. Both methods are excellent for age spots and fine lines, pigmentation, liver spots or rough dry skin, scars and sun damage. Microdermabrasion may increase the amount and density of collagen fibers. Additionally increases the number and size of fibroblasts, cells that make collagen and the number and orientation of elastic fibers, giving the dermal layer more spring.

After Treatment:

You will see subtle improvements at first, but that healthy glow will increase with each treatment of your series. Then you can keep your vibrant appearance by obtaining treatment once a month. Chemical Peels and/or Microdermabrasion work for superficial skin conditions, deeper scars in addition to pigmentary abnormalities but may require a Fractional or Photofacial Laser treatment.

Photodynamic Acne Therapy

Applying photo-sensitizing Levulanic acid solution, prior to light treatment, such as Blue Light or IPL (Intense Pulse Light). It then acts as a targeting beacon, because only abnormal cells such as pre-cancerous keratosis, acne, and sun damage absorb it, thus quick success in getting rid of the lesion and restoring skin to a normal, healthy condition.

Levulan acne treatments

For Levulan Acne treatments, inactivating bacteria that can trigger acne, then we unclog pores by exfoliating skin, thus slowing down oil production in the sebaceous gland. This is one cause of acne and is vital in preventing formation. Most ideal for patients who have tried antibiotics or topical treatments, and ideal for patients who don’t want accutane.

With regards to damage patients, it intensifies the IPL and may not be used for the 1st session but during one of the follow-ups. Levulan treatments can be equivalent to three IPL treatments.
